This collection consists of sixty-five pieces - some of the best music by both composers from diverse sources arranged by tonality for ease of performance. The music is for 10-course lute in renaissance tuning but all pieces can be played on an 8-course lute with minor adaptation of bass notes. Set in modern lute tablature with a period appearance, the book includes several pieces that have not yet appeared in modern edition from Vallet's Regia pietas (1620).
