Vivaldi’s concertos are known for their melodic inventiveness, virtuosity and dramatic flair, which make him such a significant composer of the Baroque era.
He did compose a small number of pieces specifically for the recorder and some flute concertos have also been adapted for the recorder consort.
Eileen Silcock’s arrangement is not overly difficult to play; it is well laid out with the top line taking the solo, with the other players as the orchestra.
