Rameau was by far the most important French composer of the 18th century. He wrote very little chamber music but his operas and ballets are full of the most extraordinary instrumental pieces.

In both volumes the music has been transposed as necessary for the recorder and the orchestral parts reduced for a keyboard instrument. Players are invited to combine any pieces they like: two pieces together or longer combinations.
