American harpsichordist Richard Siegel finished his musical studies in the United States and came to France, where he won First Prizes in Harpsichord and Chamber Music at the Paris National Conservatory. In 1977, at the Paris International Harpsichord Competition, he was awarded First Prize in Figured Bass Realisation. Since then, he has pursued an international career and played over 2,600 concerts, both as a soloist and accompanist.

He has recorded over 30 CDs, including the Bach Sonatas for flute and harpsichord and the complete Brandenburg Concertos.

In 2002, he was awarded a “Fondation de France” prize (Prix Charles Oulmont) honouring his career.
